Barnbuilding

Hello and welcome to the new and improved Barn!

Except that it may not look very new. And it may not be all that improved. For example, my grammar will still suck at times. But apart from that, it's all very exciting!

As I said back at ye olde homestead, there is work to be done on getting everything unpacked and moved. I hope you will bear with me while that happens. It was a bit of a blow to realise that, after all my confident boasts that moving the archives was NO PROBLEM (I said that! No problem, I said!) that it turned out to be ...um...not so much.

Despite the utter tedium of doing the move manually, it has been rather amusing, looking back over the whole of the Mare oeuvre up until this point. Realising how much time I have spent obsessing, writing and thinking about infertility was a bit...sombering at times. But, as Suz and Deborah over at The Trying Game have both pointed out, it's still probably cheaper than either therapy or HPTs. And it's probably twice as much fun.

Right, well then, make yourself at home... I think there is some lemonade around here somewhere, or possibly some vodka. Both, if you're in the mood.

I'm just going to go on quietly putting the roof on the barn, humming that anthemic melody from the film Witness, and trying to not to nail my thumb to the beams.

I'm happy to be the first commenter (maybe) on your new spot.

I love typepad and hope it's good to you too.

I am the FIRST COMMENT!! Jumping up and down while clapping hands excitedly. Unless someone else beat me to the punch while I'm writing this (biatches!)

Let me also be the first to stock the bar of this barn with a lovely bottle of virtual Glenfiddich; sure it's not as fun, but there's no hangover either.

Take care, it's a beautiful new abode you have here.

Welcome to your new home! I hope we are all going to have a barnraising party. I'll bring the shiraz.

Welcome to the corner Ho!
*Sings* I think I love you!
hee hee, that Glenfiddich Suz brought has done wonders for my attitude.

Welcome to typepad!!!!!

I love it, hope you do too.

I wanted to be first, but I slacked too much. :(

Well, there goes the neighborhood!

JUST KIDDING. Welcome. I had planned to show up at your barn door with chocolate chip cookies, but crap...I just ate 'em all.

Welcome Home, Mare!

You're just as cute in Typepad...

xxoo

Welcome, Mare!!!

And now, since you are my "neighbor", I'll have to come over for that Haggis recipe I've been dying to try...

glad you made the switch!
I kept wanting to post on your old blog to sing the praises of typepad but posting to blogger took too long!

Gah.

We have a name for traitors like you in these parts, but I am a lady and I won't sully my tongue saying it.

I am going to have to move, too, aren't I?

Aren't barn raisings a social activity? I'll cook up some yummy treats for when the shirtless sweaty menfolk are hungry. And even more special treats for the women doing the real work. So, um, welcome to your new home!

Barnraising! Thank you, Amyesq. I kept thinking "Barnwarming? That's not it..."

Congratulations on the new digs, Mare!

I love what you've done with the place.

Ohhh ... nice new barn... except, damnit, I agree with Soper! How dare you move! Now *I'm* obsessing about moving (again), and I'm POOR!

*grumble*grumble*grumble*

Gonna have to go back to showing my boobs for a buck on streetcorners ...

*sigh*

Yeah! Now I have more free time instead of waiting for blogger to open a window so I can add a comment.

Welcome to the neighborhood. I'll bring cake.

xxoo,

Welcome to your new home. Should I have brought a gift?

Congratulations on the new barn!
Had to manually treck all my snacks here, too. Geez.

What a lovely new barn. I hope this leads to many other lovely new things in your life.

Congrats on your new site. It looks great! Welcome to typepad! :)

Hi Mare,

I'm a little late to the party, but thank you for moving your archives over! I've been reading through them over the past few nights (trying to pace myself and not stay up until 4am, although I'm highly tempted).

You have an amazing way with words and analogies.
