It Is What It Is

It's just good to know that things are progressing well regardless of any frustration caused by dueling NT scans.

Keep us posted.

Glad to see that all looked well and the baby was nice and active.
I'm currently 36.5 weeks with my 2nd, and at age 37 I had the NHS nuchal which with a slightly elevated NT result gave me a 'high' risk of 1 in 110 of D's Syndrome. We then went for a private scan and with 3 further markers looked at, the figure reduced to 1 in 2373 (I think from memory, certainly 2000 and something). But we didn't have an amnio. Please don't hesitate to ask any more details if you feel like it. The end of the story will become clearer in a few weeks I guess!

What a shame you had an abrupt and daft sonographer. I've not had that experience even with NHS but I can well imagine it. Good luck for the private scan. x

Hello! I know you don't know me, but we've got something in common. I got your blog address off the Stirrup Queen's blogroll and was wondering if you wouldn't mind helping me help a couple who is trying to add a little one to their family. We're holding a silent auction for them this weekend (Friday and Saturday) on goteamwitt.blogspot.com and need help getting the word out! We would love it if you would spread the word via social media or here on your blog. Additionally, we are always looking for more donations to auction off, so if you or someone you know might be interested in making a donation, all the information is under the donate tab. If you have any questions or would be willing to post a pre-written blog post about the auction and the sponsored couple, please contact Kristin at goteamwitt@gmail.com Thanks in advance for taking the time to consider this!

I'm a bit late, but my GP down in Wiltshire warned me that ultrasound training can vary wildly between technicians, and suggested that the NT training of NHS staff was not always as one would wish (except that he put it rather more rudely). So I went off and got a private scan at the John Radcliffe from a consultant who'd been doing them for over ten years, and he spent forty minutes making sure that he got it right.

In other words, I think you made the right call there.
