Hello! Happy New Year!
So, I finally went and had a baby on Friday, exactly a week overdue. Caveat was born after a marathon 36 hour labour by a natural delivery that left him a little bit blue around the gills at the final push but happily ok. As for me, I am utterly exhausted but relatively unscathed and untorn, which is somewhat remarkable, not in the least because this kid weighs in at a sturdy 9lbs 2.5 oz and I'm not exactly a big girl myself.
I owe you yet another long birth story (is there any other kind around here?) but first, we all need some rest, sleep and settling in back home. And since I can't really keep calling him Caveat, so henceforth I think he shall be known here as "Colt". He is squishy, smells delicious and so far is content to spend most of his time sleeping on top of Knox or me, dreaming his new baby dreams.
We are all very happy, very relieved and quietly overjoyed.

Congratulations! Fingers crossed that he stays sleeper! My second was over nine pounds and a great sleeper, the ped said big babies tend to be.
